Canon KPA Wedding Photo Award 2016 – Honoring the Contribution of Photographer Bikram Neupane
In the Canon KPA Wedding Photo Award 2016, photographer Bikram Neupane played a pivotal role in elevating the entire event to a nationwide platform. Under his leadership, the competition—organized by the Kathmandu Photographers’ Association—was presented with a refreshing modern structure that brought new energy and creativity to the program.
As a recognition of his outstanding contribution, he was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation by senior and respected photographer Bakhat Bahadur Chitrakar during the Association’s Annual General Meeting.
Bikram Neupane, the Owner and Lead Photographer of Wedding Kathmandu (weddingkathmandu.com), introduced several groundbreaking initiatives in the 2016 edition of the award:

For the first time, the event was broadcast live on Himalaya Television, giving national exposure to wedding photography in Nepal.

He initiated the concept of publishing the Top 100 photographs on the official Facebook page of the Kathmandu Photographers’ Association.

The Viewer’s Choice Award was also launched under his guidance, increasing public engagement and transparency.

To encourage participation from independent and regional photographers across Nepal, he led extensive promotional efforts, ensuring that information about the competition reached multiple districts.

Through his company, Kathmandu Wedding Pvt. Ltd., he sponsored beautiful custom photo frames for all Top 100 selected photographers.
The Canon KPA Wedding Photo Award 2016 was the Association’s fourth edition, aimed at uplifting photographers from Kathmandu Valley and across Nepal—regardless of their level or background—by providing a national platform to showcase their talent.
Thanks to the dedication and innovative efforts of photographer Bikram Neupane, this edition of the competition achieved new heights and became one of the most memorable events in Nepal’s wedding photography community.
